First off, let me do this meme I've had to do for a couple of weeks
Comment to this post and I will give you 5 subjects/things I associate you with. Then post this in your LJ and elaborate on the subjects given.^^Please tell if you actually want to do it or if you're just commenting!
htbthomas gave me these:
( Luna, icons, Spider-Man, Peter Pan, Doctor Who )In RL news, yesterday was my last day of school. Since my school is getting either less crappy or more crappy (we're not sure yet) by going on a traditional schedule next year, I have the next four months off. This means Harry Potter midnight screening, yes it does. However, I have Calculus tutoring until the AP test on Wednesday. The SAT is this Saturday, and the AP English Literature test is the day after the Calculus one, so this week is going involve a lot of nail biting. I'm also planning on taking a few extra classes at the local community college just to keep me busy. Maybe a job, too.
I've started reading Christopher Moore's
Fool. I'm about half-way through it now. I've been waiting all year for this. When I heard that it was King Lear I decided to wait until we read it in class so I would *get it* more, but of course we didn't read it until the last possible minute. It was also my final--I actually had a good analysis ready but I got thrown off by the fact that I had to also analyze some other book. I took way too much thinking and planning that I only got two sentences in. I did so awful. Ms. Geddes said it didn't really affect the grade, but I'm still afraid to see what I got. :/
The same day I bought Fool, I also bought the first Harry Potter in Spanish. Let me just say, that as a first generation Mexican, it's very embarrassing that I struggle in Spanish class. I figure that if Harry Potter led to my love of reading in English, it might do the same in Spanish. Also, I might be able to get my mom to read them.
Today, we had the AP Calculus Super Quiz. This is a school tradition in which all four AP Calculus AB classes taking an AP level quiz together. We have to group up (one member of each class per group) and solve the problems within the time limits. My group got third place (we would have gotten second if they had listened to me for one question!) and our prize was a five-dollar gift AMC certificate.
And lastly, I got a
Twitter! I've had it for a while but I never actually posted the link here, so if anyone wants to just add me!
I never really saw the point for a long time, but then Matt Lewis got a Twitter and I just had to follow him. I now follow him, Neil Gaiman, Michael Ian Black, and I just discovered Chris Moore's! His swine flu tweets had me rolling on the floor.
